I have had dogs in my life since 2005 (specifically Dachshunds), and after completing my degree I realised that I wanted to work with animals instead of being in an office, so I started working at a kennels in 2013 and loved it. As I wanted to spend more 1-2-1 time with the dogs I enrolled at Absolutely Animals in London where I trained to become a dog groomer and gained my City & Guilds Level 3.
After working in a reputable salon in York for 8 years I decided to move my business closer to where I live and so started renting a table at a salon in Selby.
I love dog grooming; making your dogs look and feel their best is what I strive for. To achieve this I am constantly learning - I attend grooming seminars, shows and webinars to learn new skills, discover new products and interact with other groomers. The products I use are all specifically made for dogs, they are paraben free and I have different types of shampoo and conditioner to suit every dog and their coat type.
Minnie (my standard smooth haired Dachshund/ absolute diva) is my partner in crime. I got her in 2014 and decided to compete in dog shows with her! We were fortunate enough to compete at Crufts on 4 occasions! She keeps me on my toes, and although she isn't long haired it doesn't stop me trying out new products on her before introducing them into the salon!
